Sigiriya is Sri Lanka's most iconic landmark — a 200-metre high ancient rock fortress built by King Kashyapa in the 5th century. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982.

Kandy is Sri Lanka's last royal capital, set among misty hills and centred around the sacred Kandy Lake. The city is home to the revered Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic — the most important Buddhist shrine in Sri Lanka. Known for its vibrant cultural performances and world-class botanical gardens.

Nuwara Eliya is Sri Lanka's most celebrated hill station, nestled among rolling tea estates at nearly 2,000m altitude. The cool mountain air, colonial-era bungalows, and endless emerald-green tea plantations create a world unlike anywhere else on the island. Often called "Little England" for its temperate climate and Victorian architecture.

Hikkaduwa is a vibrant beach resort on Sri Lanka's south-west coast, famous for its colourful coral reef just metres from the shore. Home to sea turtles, tropical fish, and a lively beach culture, Hikkaduwa offers the perfect blend of water sports, wildlife, and relaxed coastal living.

Galle Fort is one of the best-preserved colonial sea fortifications in Asia, built by the Dutch in the 17th century. Today it is a vibrant living town of cobblestoned streets, boutique hotels, art galleries, and excellent cafés — all within 400-year-old rampart walls with sweeping ocean views.

Ella is a small highland town that has captured the imagination of travellers worldwide — thanks to its iconic Nine Arch Bridge, breathtaking mountain views through the Ella Gap, and the world-famous scenic train journey through tea country. Despite its fame, Ella retains a charming village atmosphere with excellent cafés, hiking trails, and cool highland air.

The Dambulla Cave Temple is a breathtaking complex of five sacred caves cut into a massive granite outcrop, containing over 150 Buddha statues and 2,100 square metres of ancient ceiling frescoes. Dating back over 2,000 years and designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is the best-preserved cave temple complex in Asia.

Anuradhapura was Sri Lanka's first capital city, founded in the 4th century BC. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it contains the world's oldest living tree — the Sri Maha Bodhi, grown from a branch of the original Bodhi Tree. The site sprawls across 40 square kilometres of ancient ruins, enormous white stupas, and sacred ponds.

Mirissa is a small golden-sand beach town on Sri Lanka's south coast — famous worldwide as one of the best whale watching destinations on earth. The deep ocean waters just offshore are a feeding ground for the planet's largest creature — the blue whale. Beyond whale watching, Mirissa's crescent beach and Parrot Rock viewpoint make it a perfect retreat.

Negombo is the first destination most visitors experience in Sri Lanka, just 35km north of Colombo's international airport. A charming town with a rich fishing heritage, Dutch-era canals, and a long sandy beach, Negombo offers an authentic introduction to Sri Lankan coastal life. The morning fish market is one of the most vibrant in the country.
